The router has 16 Ethernet ports running at 10/100/1000 Mbit/s. That many ports on a router means every internet line, office network segment or part of a building can have its own port and be managed in one device, without having to add a switch right away. It keeps the network layout simpler and makes troubleshooting easier.

The 2S+ in the model name stands, in MikroTik naming, for two SFP+ slots. SFP+ is the 10-gigabit connection standard used to link the router to a switch, a server or an operator's fibre line. The slot takes an optical module or a direct-attach cable, chosen according to the distance and the device on the other end.

CCR stands for the MikroTik Cloud Core Router series, built to be the central router of a network rather than a home Wi-Fi device. According to the supplier there is no mobile broadband, mesh or MU-MIMO: this device handles wired network routing only, and the wireless network is built with separate access points.

The router weighs 1.283 kg. The reset button lets you quickly restore factory settings when needed, for example if the configuration was changed in a way that cut off access. The supplier does not list enclosure dimensions or mounting options, so check the space in your network cabinet in advance.
