  • Wi-Fi: Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be), compatible with 802.11ax/ac/n, up to 4300 Mbit/s
  • Port: 1 × RJ-45
  • Power: PoE input
  • Antenna technology: MU-MIMO
  • Weight: 0.45 kg

Description

One cable for data and power

U7-LR receives both data and power over a single network cable, so no separate power socket is needed on the ceiling or wall. That makes installation easier in spots where running mains power is difficult. MU-MIMO lets the access point send data to several devices at the same time, which matters when the network is full of phones and laptops.

Who this access point is for

Homes, offices and shared spaces that already use UniFi equipment and want to move to Wi-Fi 7. Because 802.11ax, ac and n are supported too, older phones, printers and smart devices stay connected while newer devices get the benefits of Wi-Fi 7.

Questions & answers

How is U7-LR powered?

Over PoE through the same network cable. You need a switch with PoE or a PoE injector; no separate power lead runs to the device.

Will older devices work with it?

Yes. Besides Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be), the access point supports 802.11ax, 802.11ac and 802.11n devices.

How large an area does the Long-Range model cover?

The manufacturer does not specify coverage or the split between bands. The Long-Range name points to greater reach, but the exact result depends on the rooms and mounting.
