A self-built computer delivers more performance for the same money — and upgrades part by part. The heart is the graphics card and processor; around them pick an AMD motherboard or one for Intel, a quality power supply, a well-ventilated case and an effective CPU cooler. Airflow comes from case fans, and contact with the cooler from thermal paste. A UPS protects against power cuts.

How to put a build together

Graphics card defines gaming performance — choose it first and size the PSU around it.
CPU and motherboard must match by socket (AM5 → AMD, LGA → Intel); check the memory type too (DDR5).
Power supply: an 80 Plus certificate and ~30% headroom — quiet and long-lived.
Cooling: a tower cooler covers most CPUs; pick liquid cooling for top-end models.
UPS keeps your PC and NAS alive through a power cut — no lost work.

FAQ

How powerful a PSU do I need? Add up component draw (the graphics card is the biggest) and leave ~30% headroom — a typical gaming PC needs 650–850 W.

Is the boxed cooler enough? For office tasks, yes; under gaming and work loads a separate tower cooler keeps the CPU cooler and quieter.
