Description

A Wi-Fi 7 extender that reaches the far room

An extender sits between the router and the room with weak signal: it picks up the router's signal and passes it on. The RE220BE supports the Wi-Fi 7 standard, and BE3600 stands for a combined speed class of around 3600 Mbit/s across both bands. Two external antennas help receive and resend the signal, while the gigabit RJ-45 port takes a TV, games console or desktop computer that has no Wi-Fi.

Who this range extender is for

Flats and houses where the router sits in the hallway but the bedroom, terrace or upper floor gets a weak signal. Homes where a smart TV or console is far from the router and a cable cannot be run to it, because the extender's gigabit port replaces the long cable. And anyone who already has a Wi-Fi 7 router and wants the same technology in the far rooms.

Questions & answers

What is the RJ-45 port for?

The gigabit port (1000 Mbit/s) connects a wired device, such as a TV, games console or computer, which then gets its network through the extender.

What does BE3600 mean?

BE stands for the Wi-Fi 7 standard (802.11be) and 3600 for a combined speed class of around 3600 Mbit/s across both bands. Real-world speed depends on the router, distance and walls.

Does the RE220BE work in a mesh network?

The manufacturer does not specify mesh or OneMesh support. The device is designed to extend an existing router's network as a range extender.
