55 inches is where the wall starts to matter

The TV weighs 12–28 kg and an arm turns every kilo into leverage. Choose a mount rated for at least 35 kg: headroom is not luxury, it is what keeps the TV on the wall when someone swings the screen.

• VESA. 400 × 400 is the most common here, with 300 × 300 also in play. A universal plate covers both.
• Arm and weight. A long arm with a 20 kg TV needs a fixing into concrete or timber studs — a plasterboard plug will not carry that load.
• Tilt. 10–12° is plenty; more is only needed above a fireplace.
• Lateral shift. Some Neomounts and Onkron models let you slide the TV 5–10 cm sideways after mounting — a rescue when the holes ended up a couple of centimetres off.
