Why Huawei and Honor share one page
Until the end of 2020 Honor was a Huawei sub-brand, and many phones from that time are built on the same platform, sometimes even in the same body. The Huawei Y6s, Honor 8A and Y6 Prime take the same case, as do the Huawei P Smart 2019 and Honor 10 Lite, and the Honor 20 and Huawei Nova 5T. Such pairs are listed in the case title separated by a slash, so a Y6s owner will also find a match among Honor 8A cases.
P Lite, P Smart and Y: similar names, different phones
The widest choice is for the P Lite series: Huawei P30 Lite cases and P40 Lite covers come in several styles. Watch the names, though: the P40 Lite and P40 Lite E are completely different phones, and so are the P Smart, P Smart 2019 and P Smart 2021. A case fits only the model named exactly in its title.
How to check your model
Open Settings → About phone. Besides the name, it shows a model code (MAR-LX1A, for example, is the P30 Lite) that identifies the phone for certain. Then pick the model in the filter or in the row of models above the products. Newer Honor phones, such as the Magic Lite and X series or the Honor 90, 200 and 400 Pro, came out after the split from Huawei and only take cases made for their own model.
Clear, silicone or wallet case
- Clear case. The most common choice for Huawei and Honor: thin TPU leaves the phone’s look unchanged. It may yellow over time, which is a property of the material, not a defect. See all clear cases.
- Silicone case. Soft, grippy and available in several colours.
- Wallet case. The flap covers the screen and there is often a card slot inside, handy when the phone is your everyday work tool.
An older phone often keeps working for years, and a new case protects worn edges and makes it look neat again. P40 Lite owners can also add a P40 Lite screen protector, and cases for other brands are under all phone cases.
