Why choose a wallet case

A book-style flip case is a phone case and a small wallet in one. The phone clips into an inner plastic shell, the cover closes over the screen, and the inside of the cover has pockets for cards. It suits you if you carry the phone in a bag with your keys or want your bank card and travel card in one place.

• The screen is covered. Keys and coins in a bag cannot scratch it, and in a fall the cover takes the first hit.
• Your cards come along. A wallet case with card slots replaces a small wallet: an ID card and a bank card fit inside the cover.
• A stand for video. On many models the cover folds so the phone stands on a table in landscape.
• A window in the cover. Models with Clear View or Smart View in the name have a see-through or windowed cover that shows the time.

The trade-offs

A flip case is thicker than a back cover, and you have to open the cover or fold it back to take a call or use the camera. Our wallet cases have no MagSafe magnet, so magnetic chargers, car mounts and card wallets will not stick to them. Wireless charging through the back often works, but cards must not end up between the phone and the charger. Materials and closure

Most flip cases are made of faux (eco) leather: it is light and easy to wipe clean with a damp cloth. Genuine leather is rare — some FIXED Opus models use it, so if you want a real leather case, check the product title. The cover is held shut by a magnet: Fusion Magnet and similar models do not fall open in a bag. There are book cases from Fusion, Tactical, FIXED, Dux Ducis, Tech-Protect, Nillkin and Obal:Me.

Which phones have the most flip cases

Wallet cases are most popular with Android users. The widest choice is among Samsung Galaxy cases, above all for the A series: the Galaxy A34, A13, A35 and A53 each have several styles. Xiaomi, Redmi and POCO phones come next, especially the Redmi 12C, Redmi Note 12 and POCO C55. For the Galaxy S26 series there are FIXED Opus and Smart Caro covers. iPhone flip cases are few — iPhone owners tend to pick a slim back cover with a magnetic wallet.

Getting the right fit

A flip case holds the phone in an inner shell moulded for one model, so the model has to match exactly. With Samsung and Redmi, check the end of the name: the Galaxy A13 4G and A13 5G have different bodies, and so do the 4G and 5G versions of the Redmi Note 12. Some covers fit several models at once, such as the Redmi 12C, 11A and POCO C55 — the product title says so. Find the exact model in your phone’s settings under About phone and select it in the model filter. Other types are in the main phone cases category.

Frequently asked questions

Will the magnetic clasp damage my bank card? The chip is not affected by magnets and contactless payments keep working. A magnetic stripe can suffer from long contact with a strong magnet, so keep stripe cards away from the clasp.

Can I charge wirelessly without taking the flip case off? Often yes, because the back of the case is thin. Just make sure no cards or metal sit between the phone and the charger.

Do I still need a screen protector with a flip case? A closed cover protects the screen in a bag or pocket. When the cover is open, or the phone lands on a corner, a screen protector adds extra protection.

Can a wallet case replace my wallet? As a small wallet, yes. It will not replace a full wallet — a cover stuffed with cards does not close properly and stretches the pockets.
