How to choose a washing machine

The right washing machine is the one whose capacity, spin speed and programmes match your household's laundry basket. Think through five things before you buy and you will neither overpay nor be caught short later.

Washing machines in our range

Most of the range is front-loading washing machines from 6 to 11 kg — Bosch Serie 4 and 6, LG with the AI DD inverter motor, Whirlpool FreshCare+, Candy Smart and Smart Pro, Indesit My Time, Gorenje WaveActive, Midea and TCL. Washer-dryers (LG, Gorenje) wash and dry in one cycle — the answer when there is no room for a separate dryer. For small spaces there are slim models under 45 cm deep, and for a summer house or student flat a semi-automatic top-loader with a 3 kg drum.

Which brand to trust

Bosch is known for its quiet EcoSilence Drive motor and long warranty. LG Direct Drive machines are among the quietest on the market, and the AI function recognises fabric by itself. Whirlpool and Indesit offer dependable machines at a sensible price, while Candy and Gorenje suit those who want plenty of programmes for little money. Midea and TCL are fast-growing brands whose class-A machines are among the most affordable in the range.

Installation and delivery

A washing machine is a bulky item: we deliver it by courier anywhere in Estonia. Before ordering, check that the machine fits through the doorway and that the room has a water connection and a drain 60–100 cm above the floor. A new machine ships with transit bolts — remove them before the first wash.

Make it a pair: tumble dryers keep laundry moving even in winter, while irons and garment steamers finish the job. For the kitchen, see dishwashers — the full selection is in home appliances.

Frequently asked questions

What size washing machine for a family? For a family of four, 8–9 kg is ideal: a week's laundry and even a duvet fit, yet the machine does not run half empty.

Is energy class A worth it? Yes, if you wash 3–5 times a week. The gap to class D is up to 30% in electricity and water — hundreds of euros over the machine's life.

Washer-dryer or a separate dryer? A combined machine saves space but dries less per load (usually half the wash capacity) and uses more water. A separate dryer is more efficient if you have the room.

Is an inverter motor really quieter? Yes — a brushless motor has no wearing parts, runs more quietly and usually carries a 10-year manufacturer warranty.

How is the machine delivered? A bulky-goods courier brings it to your door anywhere in Estonia; carrying it upstairs is arranged with the courier separately.
