In a GT-style cockpit you sit more upright than in a formula car, with your feet roughly level with the seat and the wheel in front of your chest, as in a road or GT car. This position suits rally, GT and touring car titles in particular, where stints are long and precise braking and gear changes matter.

According to the manufacturer the cockpit weighs 58.51 kg. A base that heavy stays planted on the floor when you brake hard or when a force feedback wheel tugs at your hands in a corner. A wheel clamped to a desk and pedals on a smooth floor, by contrast, give way exactly when precision matters most.

With the wheel and pedals on one frame, the distances between them are identical every time. Braking points and lap times become more consistent, and your muscle memory still works the next evening. At a desk the chair moves a little every time, and you have to find your position all over again.

GTtrack is a base, not a complete simulator. The wheel base, rim, pedals and, if you like, a shifter are chosen separately; check mounting against the manufacturer compatibility list. A monitor or TV goes on a separate stand or desk in front of the cockpit, as a monitor stand is not mentioned in the manufacturer data.

GTtrack suits sim racers who mostly drive GT, rally and touring car titles and have outgrown a desk clamp. A heavy frame makes sense for owners of a strong force feedback wheel base. It needs a permanent spot in the room, as the manufacturer does not mention folding.
